Google cloud gaming service to launch in 14 countries this year

Details about Google Stadia have been revealed before the 9am press event (watch it here!), here's what we know so far

Google to launch Stadia game streaming service in November

At minimum, you'll need a 10Mbps connection for 720p 60 fps (which should be pretty OK if you're just using Stadia on your phone or tablet). According to the Stadia website, users will be able to purchase games directly.

You can check out the rest of the key players working on Stadia in PCGamesInsider.biz's extensive roundup here. 65 hours might seem like a lot, but it only comes out to around a couple hours of gaming per day, which is hardly unheard of.

Google said some games would be free to paying subscribers while others would be sold at prices similar to existing retail. You can play with the membership for 3 months.

For some players, these figures will be of little import, either because they have unlimited data usage or they do not plan to use their Stadia at a level that would exceed their data cap.

Google and Stadia will likely have some competition in the cloud gaming space. Currently, we have no clue how many games we'll get with the subscription (which totals to almost $120 per year).

The free version, Stadia Base, lets you play purchased games at up to 1080p and 60FPS, while the Stadia Pro subscription is $10 a month and lets you stream games bought on Stadia at 4K 60FPS across all devices - and will also grant subscribers free access to an expected growing list of titles.

I'm happy to stay with Lyon next season, but we'll see. "But now I have to say Man City [are my favourite English team]". I know Wayne Rooney and his mate Steven Gerrard loved a good "erm." but this takes it to a whole new level.

Stadia Founder's Edition is the first way to get Stadia in November, and we'll be announcing even more games later this summer. With the initial announcement being mostly a technology intro and teaser of what the service could be capable of, Google promised more to come later this year, and now in a pre-recorded presentation this morning, the company has announced their launch plans for the service and how it will work for customers.

The appeal of Netflix and Spotify is their unlimited access for a monthly fee.

"Because we have that focus, we are able to make decisions that aren't hindered by the need for, frankly, the games to also run on a box in your living room", says Buser, who previously worked on Sony's PlayStation Now streaming service. More than 30 current and upcoming games from publishers such as Ubisoft Entertainment SA, Bethesda Softworks LLC, and Square Enix Holdings Co. If you have Comcast, which puts the 1TB cap for data in most USA markets, you'll have to pay an extra $50 or more if you play over the 65-hour limit each month even with the unlimited data plan.

To Amanda Anisimova , it seems "like, forever ago" that she was playing in the French Open main draw for the first time . The world number 3 has won the three most recent encounters between the pair in straight sets - all on hard courts.

Android TV device owners can of course buy a Chromecast and then use it to play Stadia games when the service launches in November, however, that will largely be buying the hardware for the sole goal of Stadia - which somewhat ironically goes against the "you don't need to buy devices" mantra set out by the service. But with Stadia Basic not launching until next year, the details on how free streaming will work are slim - mainly whether it will be truly free, or if Google will be doing something (e.g. ads) to recoup the cost of the server time. "So you know I'm pretty sure we're going to get there".
