Mac Pro (2019), 6K Apple Pro Display XDR Unveiled at WWDC 2019

Apple finally updates the Mac Pro with supreme power - up to 28 cores

Apple Mac Pro 2019: Specs, Price and Release Date

Apple said the base model of its Mac Pro will feature an 8-core Intel Xeon processor, 32 GB of Ram, a Radeon Pro 580x graphics card, 256GB SSD and various ports.

The new Mac Pro CPU utilizes an Intel Xeon that can feature as many as 28 cores and 64 PCI Express lanes for incredible performance and bandwidth, capable of simulating multiple iOS devices at a time or playing hundreds of virtual instruments at a time.

In other words, it's very, very expensive and you can edit Jurassic World III on it. That's cool. But between the holes on the outer metal housing, the long metal handles, and slight trapezoidal shape, the whole thing looks like an oversized cheese grater... on wheels. With Afterburner, Apple claims it can play back 3 streams of 8K ProRes Raw video (or 12 streams of 4K).

Shortly after the new Mac Pro, due out this fall, hit the stage, Apple released a laundry list of developers and their impressions from test-driving prototypes. And for the Pro Display XDR, it will start at a whopping $4,999.

There has clearly been a lot of effort been put in to make sure the design is right, with huge emphasis being placed on thermal management, allowing the machine to run full bore with it's maximum configuration of 28 cores without need for throttling.

The Mac Pro is designed with performance and customization in mind. Apple only revealed the base price of the 2019 Mac Pro which starts at $5,999.

The company introduced what it calls a "game-changing" accelerator card, the Apple Afterburner.

With the new Mac Pro, Apple has returned to the basics in a big manner. Apple says that it is so far beyond HDR it has coined the acronym XDR, meaning "Extreme Dynamic Range". This is likely due to the fact that, unlike Apple CEO Tim Cook, most of us do not have a net worth measuring nine digits.

USA ready to talk with Iran 'with no preconditions': Mike Pompeo
Washington re-imposed sanctions past year and ratcheted them up in May, ordering all countries to halt imports of Iranian oil. In other words, Washington has no intention to let up on its campaign of "maximum pressure" on Iran.

macOS 10.15 is available to developers from today and a public beta will be available to Mac users later this month. The Pro Display XDR is going to be $4999, or $5999 for the nano-texture version.

To create such a bright display, Apple says it had to use 576 blue (yes, blue) LEDs to illuminate the pixels.

It's been nearly eight years since we saw the release of a new Mac Pro design, and this year's announcement of the third-generation Mac Pro at WWDC 2019 was definitely meant to be exciting. The stand will go for $999 and, if you have your own third-party stand, you'll still need to plunk down $199 for the VESA adapter. That doesn't include tax or shipping and you'll have to wait until fall to get it.
