UK: Nigel Farage's Brexit Party leads European Union election poll

European Parliament election

YouGov political research manager Chris Curtis said: "The upcoming European Parliament elections will be the first outing for two brand new parties: Change UK - The Independent Group and Nigel Farage's Brexit Party".

If translated into action at the ballot box, the poll results would see the Brexit Party claim some 49 seats in the House of Commons - and Remainer party chairman Brandon Lewis ousted from his seat, along with other Tory heavyweights including serving members of the Cabinet and even leadership hopeful Boris Johnson, a leading but so far ineffectual Brexiteer. Prioritising intra-party politics at home over the opportunity to elect the best decision-makers would be a disservice - not just to the least privileged in the United Kingdom, but much further across the globe.

Mr Watson will reportedly invoke the late Labour leader John Smith, saying the heavyweight would have backed a "people's vote as a way out of this destructive mess".

Tory rebel ringleader Jacob Rees-Mogg, who failed to unseat May past year, pleaded with disillusioned Tories to stick with the party for the sake of Mrs May's successor.

Labour lead the way in general election polling, with 28% of support.

Brexit Delay: UK Will Take Part In European Polls
May on Tuesday reluctantly accepted that Britain will take part in European elections, nearly three years after voting to leave the EU.

It would give the Tories their worst result in history - confirming the fears of Conservatives who decry the prime minister's handling of Brexit.

"And it will, it will take six to eight weeks to get the whole exercise going, but let's just start it now".

"The Tories' reliance on Leave voters seemed sensible in the aftermath of the referendum".

Ministerial aide Huw Merriman said the party faced a "mauling" as an opinion poll suggested the Conservatives could slump to fifth place.

The shadow Brexit secretary Sir Keir Starmer has said a cross-party deal will not get through Parliament unless it is subject to a fresh public vote.

European Union calls on Iran to fulfill nuclear deal commitments
The US announced its withdrawal from the deal In May 2018 and imposed sanctions on Iran in November of the same year. Vice Admiral Jim Malloy, commander of the U.S.

May's government hopes that Britons elected to the European Parliament will not need to take their seats, still wanting to get a divorce deal passed by parliament before the end of June.

Mr Drummond said Remainers were split on which party to support and 57% would like to see a pro-Remain alliance.

A Brexit compromise deal with Labour remains No 10's "Plan A" but should talks collapse then ministers will move onto their "Plan B" of offering MPs votes on.

The Liberal Democrats are in third place on 15%, closely behind Labour on 16%, but the big frontrunners remain the Brexit Party, with 34%.

Downing Street views the votes proposal as potentially its last throw of the dice as the Government attempts to find a Brexit strategy capable of securing the support of a majority of MPs.
