Breaking: Galaxy Fold review unit phones (literally)

He's not alone with Fold problems, as The Verge's Dieter Bohn has reported that his Samsung Galaxy Fold had its screen break in one day.

Bloomberg's Mark Gruman tweeted on Wednesday that the interior, folding screen of his Galaxy Fold review unit was "completely broken and unusable" after two days. While we would normally be pretty jealous of the opportunity to review brand new tech, it seems that numerous chosen reviewers are expierencing horrifically bad screen failures just a few days into using the foldable smartphone device. He thought it was a screen protector and started peeling the rest of it off only to realize that it was actually an integral part of the display. Kovach commented, saying he and Haselton did not remove said layer, but still experienced breakage just the same.

Both Mark Gurman of Bloombergand Steve Kovach of CNBC have posted photos and video of their broken review units.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah explains goal celebration against Chelsea
With four games left to play, here are 3 things we learned from the Reds' clean sheet win at Anfield. "You have to believe, otherwise you can stay home next time".

This protective film is apparently not supposed to be removed from the device, but Samsung doesn't bundle any such warning with the device.

"PSA: There's a layer that appears to be a screen protector on the Galaxy Fold's display".

Prior to the Fold's release, Samsung reportedly tested the phone's folding mechanism more than 200,000 times, claiming it passed the threshold for durability. "There's something pressing up against the screen at the hinge, right there in the crease". But even still, the urge to remove that top layer has been ingrained in all of us for over a decade - plastic doesn't feel right on a phone, and it looks like it's removable.

Champions League: Barcelona crush Manchester United as Ajax stun Juventus
As touched upon, it's not easy being a top club from outside Europe's "big five" leagues, historically and contemporarily. Barcelona will face either Liverpool or Porto in the semi-finals, while Ajax meet Tottenham or Manchester City .

The Fold features a 20-part, dual-axis hinge that's created to open and close seamlessly with just a little bit of force. The issue seems to be in... well... the display, to put it bluntly. It should be pretty clear here that Samsung's Galaxy Fold is experiencing some sort of hardware failure, specific to the display - rather than the software. We can't be sure on the message Samsung wants to convey: it could be overwhelming demand indeed, or it could be very limited stock.

The official Samsung Galaxy Fold launch is April 26 in the USA and May 3 in the United Kingdom and Europe. It looks like Marques Brownlee did the same thing, so we'll have to watch and see if his unit survives.

But wait, there is more!
