The Northern Irishman was speaking to the press ahead of this weekend's Arnold Palmer Invitational, from which Woods has withdrawn due to neck strain.

Woods said he has been dealing with the strain for a few weeks.

The 14-time major champion says his previously troublesome lower back is unaffected and he has no long-term concerns.

This week marks week two of the four-week Florida Swing, as the PGA Tour stops in Bay Hill, Florida just outside of Orlando, for the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. "Its connection to Arnold makes it one of my favorite tournaments and I'm disappointed to miss it".

In a tweet, Woods announced the strain is improving but won't be fully healed in time for the event at the Bay Hill Golf Course, which has a purse of $9.1 million.

The eight-time Bay Hill champion, and now ranked 12th in the world, said he's been battling with the injury for some weeks.

He said the order doesn't set a bad precedent for future administrations because Democrats are "going to do that anyway, folks". Democrat, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has tried to temper talk about impeaching Trump, noting the process is "divisive".

The setback comes as the PGA Tour season enters a busy stretch of high-profile tournaments beginning with this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.

In a post on Twitter, Woods said the problem was unrelated to the lower back issues which sidelined him for almost two years, and added he had no concern over his long-term fitness. His hope is to be back for The Players Championship the following week in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year honour has been renamed after the late Arnold Palmer, one of golf's greatest players whose huge popularity drew a legion of fans to the game.
