Nathan Dorceus Sutherland, 36, has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and vulnerable adult abuse for the crime that was committed at the Hacienda Healthcare facility in Arizona, where the man was still working as a nurse when his DNA matched the victim's baby boy.

Nathan Sutherland a male nurse who was responsible for the care of a 29-year-old patient at the Hacienda Healthcare clinic, has been arrested under the suspicion of raping his patient according to CNN.

The parents of an Arizona woman in a vegetative state who gave birth released a statement Tuesday that they said sought to counter any misconceptions about their daughter's condition. A few hours later, he was in handcuffs. Sutherland has "invoked his 5th Amendment rights" and has not participated in an interview with police, Thompson said.

'"I know at this point there's DNA".

Sutherland, who was first licensed as a clinical nursing assistant in 2005 before becoming a nursing practitioner, has worked at Hacienda since 2011.

Hacienda said it had fired Sutherland as soon as it learned of his arrest.
