To see the eclipse, head outside at about 9:36 p.m. EST (6:36 p.m. PST) on January 20, when the moon begins moving into Earth's penumbra. It will then begin to brighten until 2:48, when the moon escapes Earth's shadow and the eclipse ends.
If one were standing on the moon, looking back at the sun, one would see the black disk of Earth blocking the entire sun, but also a ring of reflected light glowing around the edges of Earth. It gets the word super because the moon will be especially close to the Earth, making it appear much larger than normal.
"Wolf" moon is the name given to the full moon in January.

According to TimeandDate.com, the first full moon of the year is known as the "Wolf Moon" and is named after howling wolves. That's when the "bite" appearance returns and the visible slice of the moon becomes brighter.
You need to know that an eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through Earth's shadow, and the Sun, Moon and Earth lineup in space.
The partial eclipse will begin at 6:33 p.m. AKDT on Sunday. Telescopes and binoculars are helpful in seeing it and allow you to see the changes in the moon's color as the earth shadow moves across it.
Depending on the amount of water vapor, clouds, water droplets, dirt, dust and ash in the atmosphere at the time of the eclipse, the moon will appear in various shades of red compared to previous lunar eclipse events.
