Kylie Jenner’s Instagram record battered by an egg

It all began earlier this month when the unknown leader of the Egg Gang set out on an attempt to hoist the world record for Instagram photo likes with a photo of a simple brown egg. Before the egg came around, Jenner held the world record at 18 million likes for a photo of her baby daughter, Stormi Webster, whom she shares with her boyfriend, Travis Scott.

The account now boasts over 3 million followers and proudly claims the victory in its bio, which reads, "Official world record holders of the most liked picture on Instagram". Posted by Kylie Jenner in February previous year, it features her daughter Stormi Webster.

The photo was posted January 4.

Jenner responded by posting a video of her cracking an egg on tarmac. But her post, which has amassed 18 million likes since February 6, 2018, apparently doesn't have the same level of universal appeal as an egg.

There goes another one: Meghan Markle's female bodyguard quits
The visit came just days after Kensington Palace announced Meghan's first patronages as a member of the royal family. She was wearing a stunning red coat by Canadian designer Sentaler over a dress by the design house Babaton.

So if you're wanting to get in on this egg-streme world-record, you may want to scramble and like the egg-splosive viral photo.

We're slightly baffled as to how, or why, the egg picture has attracted so many likes.

An Instagram spokesperson confirmed to ABC News that the egg is in the top spot.

The video had over 14 million views a mere eight hours after publishing.

Meghan Markle's half-brother busted for drunk driving
Meghan Markle's half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. is making headlines again, but this time it isn't for their family feud. The bodyguard's name wasn't identified, yet insiders claimed that she is leaving the police force entirely.

It's the only post from the account @world_record_egg. "What a time to be alive", it said. The user claims to have become bored after giving up on "Dry January" and set up the egg account while home alone one Friday night.

"I saw this as a challenge to beat it", 'Henrietta' told Buzzfeed. "It was nothing personal".

Yesterday, reports surfaced about Kylie getting dethroned by the IG egg post.

We cannot answer these questions for you, we can only wait and see what the future holds for Egg Gang.

Jayme Closs kidnapping: Police investigate mystery motive behind suspect's abduction of teen
