DeGeneres hosted Hart on her talk show and posted the interview to Twitter where she added, "I believe in forgiveness".

She applied subtle pressure by saying after one commercial break, "We're back with this year's Oscars host, Kevin Hart". "And he should host the Oscars'". "To go back through 40,000 tweets to get back to 2008 that's an attack, that's a malicious attack on my character, that's an attack to end me, that's not an attack to just stop the Oscars". I believe in second chances. "And I believe in @KevinHart4real".

But Degeneres had Hart on her show this week, and the conversation turned serious as they addressed the Oscars ordeal and Hart's homophobic jokes.

"The next morning, after a day full of congratulations and celebrations, I'm hit with an onslaught on social media of my past coming back up again", he told Ms. DeGeneres. We want him to host. Whatever we can do.

"But for you to be the bigger man and to not pay attention - There are so many haters out there".

When talking to DeGeneres, however, Hart said he would reassess his decision to walk away from the hosting job.

Reuben Foster's latest domestic violence charge dropped
The NFL placed him on the commissioner exempt list , which prohibited him from practicing or attending games. Foster did get a weapons charge in that case, which led to a two-game National Football League suspension.

A source told PEOPLE magazine: "There has been a steady stream of buzz that things might work out between Kevin and the Academy". Instead, it demanded he apologize for the old comments.

In another clip obtained by Variety, Hart ended the interview by saying, "Leaving here, I promise you, I'm evaluating this conversation...let me assess, just to sit in this space and really think, and you and I will talk before anything else". He later apologized to the LGBTQ community and voluntarily stepped down as host.

There has been no official comment from the Academy. The televised ceremony will follow on February 24, 2019.

What do you think of the heat Ellen DeGeneres is taking for her position on Kevin Hart?

"It was an attack".

In the skit, he says: "Keep in mind, I'm not homophobic".

Every team studies how we play, especially in the Premier League and we know how hard it is to play this way. It produced a thrilling encounter and Sane said the players could feel the tension with so much at stake.

In his historic tweets, Hart called gay people "fags", as well as using the term "gay" in a derogatory way, and mocked lesbians.

In yet another tweet, he wrote that actor Damien Wayans looked like "a gay bill board for AIDS".

"As a gay person, I am sensitive to all of that". Be happy. Do what you want to do. "Please accept my apology'". I hope we can meet again. I was wrong. It'll never happen again and I'm sorry. These things become public spectacles.

Ellen DeGeneres, a friend of Hart's, allowed him to explain the outrage and news cycle from his perspective.

"They're gonna win if you don't host the Oscars", DeGeneres told him. I was so excited when I heard that they asked you. Maybe. But his attitude in response to his own hurtful words kind of spoiled the whole shebang, and even though he apologizes in this Ellen interview, he still seems indignant about the entire ordeal.

Kevin said that when the tweets resurfaced, he chose to ignore them because it's something he's apologized for already and he's no longer that guy.
