Bengals Head Coach And McDonald, Pa. Native Marvin Lewis Fired

Former Bengals' HC Marvin Lewis will have options for his future: coaching, front-office work or TV.

"I want to thank the Bengals' organization, the fans and the city of Cincinnati for their support", Lewis said in a statement.

Joseph's two seasons in charge featured a record of 11 wins and 21 losses.

Lewis coached the team for 16 seasons and holds the franchise record for most wins as a head coach with 131. The Dolphins missed the playoffs for the 15th time in the past 17 seasons.

The Dolphins finished 7-9 this season, and in three years under Gase, they went 23-25.

A native of McDonald, PA, Lewis joined the Bengals in 2003 after establishing himself as a defensive coordinator first with the Baltimore Ravens (1996-2001), with whom he won Super Bowl XXXV, and then with Washington.

The biggest shocker came in Cincinnati, where Marvin Lewis was sent packing after 16 seasons at the helm of the Bengals.

Lewis had been in the job for 16 years, the longest tenure in franchise history. "I regret I haven't been able to provide them with the No. 1 goal of being world champions". Despite being given a vote of confidence during last year's offseason by the team's owner, Lewis led the Bengals to a 6-10 record making them the worst team in the AFC North.
