Mick Mulvaney who is serving as director of the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has been appointed the Chief of Staff for the White House by President Trump.

No leading name has emerged in the days since Trump's preferred candidate to replace John Kelly bowed out.

According to reports, Mulvaney was named acting chief, rather than chief, because Trump wants, in effect, to audition him.

Mulvaney is yet another appointment of President Trump who seems to be favoring the development of the cryptocurrency industry.

"The chief of staff is always the last voice with the president, and he can control the flow of information to the president or make sure the president sees the information that Mulvaney feels is important", Harrison noted.
