James Comey and Loretta Lynch subpoenaed to testify in twilight of House Republican power

"Got a subpoena from House Republicans".

'But I will resist a "closed door" thing because I've seen enough of their selective leaking and distortion.

It's unclear if Comey and Lynch will appear, or if Republicans would be able to enforce the subpoenas, since they lose the House majority in January.

Comey's firing by President Trump has been a major component of the ongoing investigations into Russia's activities in 2016, and the former FBI chief remains a controversial figure among those who question whether his investigation of Hillary Clinton's email scandal was tainted by bias.

Anti-Pelosi Democrats Sign Letter Committing to Voting Against Her for Speaker
They could in theory vote "present" in January and keep their promises not to support her, without knocking her off the podium. There are only sixteen signatures, including newsworthy newcomers like Anthony Brindisi of NY and Joe Cunningham of SC .

Outgoing House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (Va.) is requesting that Comey and Lynch testify at dispositions held December 3 and 4, respectively, according to documents shared by Politico reporter Kyle Cheney. Comey has been called to appear on December 3, and Lynch a day later.

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte issued the subpoenas late Wednesday.

House Republicans have been investigating FBI actions in the 2016 campaign, but that probe will end when Democrats take over the committee in January.

Fearful that the GOP-led panel could leak damaging excerpts from his testimony, Comey has called for the hearing to be conducted in the open, and his lawyer told Fox News that he will fight for this in court. "Accordingly, Mr. Comey will resist in Court this abuse of process", he said.

Trump Tried To Order DOJ To Prosecute Hillary, Comey
Mr McGahn, however, warned the president against the action, and stated that he had no authority to order such a prosecution. Comey has been the subject of insults and derision from Trump ever since the president dismissed him in May of past year .

The Department of Justice's own report into the issue concluded earlier this year that Comey's decision to publicly announce that no charges would be filed against Clinton, followed by his decision to reopen the probe weeks before the election, violated agency policy and represented a "serious error of judgment".

'Let's have a hearing and invite everyone to see, ' he said.

Earlier this year, a Justice Department inspector general's report found that Comey had been "insubordinate" when he announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation would not recommend that charges be brought against Clinton.

Democrats say that it's all a distraction from special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe, which Trump has repeatedly described as a "witch hunt".

Minnesota Vikings Ups and Downs: Week 11 vs Chicago Bears
In a game packed with turnovers, it was a matter of who could take advantage of field position and put points on the board. Cousins and the Minnesota offense were held completely off the scoreboard in the first half, falling down by 14 points.

Both Comey and Lynch face questions over what they did or did not do to allegedly boost Hillary Clinton's chances in the 2016 Presidential Election.
