Apple reportedly cuts production orders for iPhone XS, XS Max and XR

Apple has cut production orders on its three latest models of the iPhone, which haven't sold as quickly as the company had originally expected, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing unnamed sources.

That shift to more premium pricing had been telegraphed by the iPhone X, which launched in 2017 and debuted Apple's newest design language among other features. Though Apple is thought to have cut iPhone XR production by 30% earlier this year, the report suggests iPhone XS and XS Max cuts are less steep.

Argentine Navy Submarine Missing For A Year Found Deep In Atlantic
The company had previously been contracted to find Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 , which disappeared over the Indian Ocean in 2014. Argentina's navy has now confirmed the wreckage of the submarine has been finally be found after 366 days of searching.

The brokerage forecast a 10 cent headwind to Micron and 15 cent headwind to Western Digital in the fourth quarter of 2018 and the first quarter of 2019 on lower iPhone builds. The move comes as global smartphone sales are slowing down, along with what appears to be weak demand from the Chinese market. In India, Apple's sales have stumbled, particularly in light of the new products which are priced highly.

The report notes that Apple's iPhone XR appears to be the worst hit with the company cutting production plan by up to a third of the almost 70 million units.

Democrat Andrew Gillum concedes Florida governor's race following vote recount
DeSantis responded on Twitter , saying "This was a hard-fought campaign". "R.J. and I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Mr. And Gillum has until the end of the month to challenge the election results. "Now it's time to bring Florida together".

Fortune has asked Apple for comment on the report, and will add it in as and when it arrives. Until now, the company has detailed how many iPhones, iPads, and Macs it has sold for each period, albeit only in aggregate rather than by individual model.

A lower-than-expected demand for the new iPhones and Apple's decision to offer more models has made it more hard to anticipate the number of components and handsets the company needs, according to the paper.
