Detectives earlier interviewed shaken-up students who may have seen the shooting. Butler High School will not have school on Tuesday. CMS will provide updates throughout today, as warranted.
The police department said on Facebook that the shooting was believed to be an isolated incident and that the scene has been secured.
However, many parents ignored the command and dozens were standing at the school's front doors when students began leaving the building shortly after 9 a.m.
