Megyn Kelly Out at NBC After Blackface Comment

Megyn Kelly MIA From NBC Morning Show Today And Tomorrow As Longterm Return Unlikely

Megyn Kelly is absent from her NBC morning show with questions swirling about whether her time at the network is coming to an end following this week's controversy over her comments about blackface. All that for wondering whether it'd be offensive for a white adult who sincerely admired a black person to dress up as them, replete with skin-darkening, as a tribute for Halloween.

"When I was a kid, that was OK, so long as you were dressing up as a character", Kelly, who was born in 1970, told an all-white panel at the time.

Two sources told People magazine that Kelly has not been fired from NBC entirely but that her 9 a.m. show is likely over.

"They're contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today".

However, Kelly's first week hosting Megyn Kelly Today wasn't exactly smooth sailing.

Shane Lowry and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano are tied at six under par, while Mikko Korhonen is a further shot back in fifth. The 38-year-old increased his lead to four shots when he rolled in from 10 feet at the 10th hole on Monday morning.

Another source said that Kelly's show will be ending, but negotiations about the end date and other details are still underway.

Before Page Six learned Kelly's fate, an insider added that there were "lots of balls still in the air". She later apologized to her staff and the public when met with extreme resistance but her career is still in jeopardy.

RadarOnline was the first to report that the singer is now in talks to take over Megyn's 9 A.M. segment on the Today show.

This news comes just as it was revealed late Wednesday that talent agency CAA had dropped her as a client. If people at Fox had issues with Kelly before, imagine how they'd feel if management shoved MacCallum or Bream aside to make room for her.

Her contract was for $69 million. Her representative confirmed she was switching to UTA, but then a spokesman for the company said they had decided not to represent her.

He also often singles out cable news network CNN and other news media whose reporting he does not like, terming them "fake news". The devices appeared to be pipe bombs, said Bryan Paamann, FBI special agent in charge of the counterterrorism division in NY .

By Wednesday morning, fellow NBC anchors Al Roker and Craig Melvin railed against Kelly, calling her comments "stupid" and "indefensible".

She apologized within hours after the remarks stirred social-media outrage, but over the next 48 hours, even prominent NBC News personnel criticized her remarks.

"I learned that given the history of blackface being used in bad ways by racists in this country, it is not okay for that to be part of any costume", Kelly said.

"For them to have had it on Nightly and the TODAY show, it would have been discussed by Andy and Noah".

Producer Stu Burguiere noted that Kelly has been an outspoken critic of the way NBC handled several allegations of sexual harassment and assault over the past year.
