Special counsel prosecutors and attorneys for Paul Manafort are releasing several years of the former Trump campaign chairman's tax returns that were at the center of his criminal trial.
Manafort is now in detention in an Alexandria jail awaiting sentencing on a host of charges brought by Mueller's prosecutors in two separate jurisdictions as part of his investigation into Russian meddling during the 2016 campaign.
At the hearing, Judge T.S. Ellis told Manafort - who served as a top adviser to Kremlin-backed politicians in Ukraine before joining the Trump campaign - that he will be sentenced February 8, five months after a Virginia jury found him guilty of bank and tax fraud.
"We do think there are significant concerns with Mr. Manafort's health and much of that has to do with the terms of Mr. Manafort's confinement", Downing said, though it was not immediately clear what ailment Manafort has suffered.

Manafort was convicted on eight out of 18 counts of bank and tax fraud in the Virginia case, related to money he made while working for the Ukrainian government.
Manafort, whose penchant for expensive suits came into focus during his trial earlier this year, had requested that he be allowed to appear in court in civilian clothes, but Judge T.S. Ellis III denied the request, saying Manafort should be treated like any other inmate.
Manafort is now cooperating with prosecutors and that had been delaying his sentencing date.

However the charges were dropped the charges without prejudice, meaning the prosecution could reintroduce them at a later date, giving them further leverage over Manafort.
Manafort is the most senior of President Donald Trump's former aides to be convicted in Mueller's Russian Federation investigation.
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort is due back in a Virginia courtroom to decide whether he will be sentenced on fraud charges before or after he completes his cooperation with prosecutors.
