Brees breaks NFL's all-time passing yards record

Brees set the National Football League all-time completions record last month with number 6,301 to break Favre's career mark. The touchdown pass gave Brees 71,968 career passing yards, surpassing Peyton Manning's mark of 71,940. Brees retrieved the ball from Smith and then handed it to David Baker, president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Brees' family was gathered on the sidelines so he could share the moment with them.

Should Brees break the record - and statistically speaking it's likely he will, as Brees has thrown for at least 200 yards in 92 percent of his home games as a Saint - the league and the Saints will reportedly stop the game if it comes at an appropriate time, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley resigns
She said Tuesday that in the last two years, the USA had become respected on the world stage, if not necessarily liked. Donald Trump lavished her with what for him is high praise, by saying she'd brought more glamour to the role.

Drew Brees became the NFL's all-time leader in yards passing - and he did it with a certain panache and precision that made the 39-year-old quarterback look far from finished.

Brees entered the game needing 201 yards through the air to set the mark and accomplished the feat in the second quarter when he flung a pass down the sideline for a 62-yardtouchdown to Tre'Quan Smith.

The Saints, at coach Sean Payton's insistence, took a chance on Brees in 2006, and the payoff has been extraordinary.

Participants are encouraged to use light sources, such as torches and smartphones, to disrupt the advertising images. Racing NSW boss Peter V'Landys says, however, that Jones has "absolutely no financial interest" in the Everest.

Brees, who turns 40 in January, sparked the Saints to a 2010 Super Bowl victory, taking Most Valuable Player honors in a 31-17 triumph over Manning's Indianapolis Colts. No other quarterback has more than one such campaign. "It doesn't feel like it's been 13 years".

Earlier in the game, Peterson took a hit to the knee, but returned to play in the next series.
