Kavanaugh's 2nd Accuser 'Has Nothing' Because She 'Admits She Was Drunk'

Christine Blasey Ford agrees to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee next week

Second woman accuses US Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault

It would be a "horrible insult to our country" and "a awful, terrible thing for future political people, judges" if the Senate doesn't confirm Kavanaugh, Trump said.

Republicans made a decision to hire a female attorney because of the risk that the panel's 11 Republican men - there are no GOP women on the committee - might say something insensitive to Ford.

Democratic committee members, he said, will determine on their own how they will interrogate the two. "By hiring a private attorney to cross-examine Dr. Blasey Ford, Republicans are trying to intimidate her and avoid being held accountable by voters". She is slated to testify before the committee at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Ford has alleged that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party more than three decades ago, when he was 17 and she was 15, saying he put his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming as he attempted rape.

All 11 Republicans on the Senate panel are men. "But realizing they had an obligation to the country they did so anyway", Schumer said on the Senate floor the morning after Kavanaugh gave an exclusive interview to Fox News where he denied he ever acted inappropriately toward women.

For survivors and the people who care about them, the message is crushing and familiar: Your experience doesn't matter. The account was published Sunday.

Brett Kavanaugh’s Yale roommate believes latest sexual misconduct accuser
Mr Kavanaugh said Dr Ford's friend does not remember being at a party with him, nor has anyone corroborated the accuser's story . A major slip-up could endanger Kavanaugh's confirmation and create political pain for the GOP in the midterm elections.

The second claim against Mr Kavanaugh dates to the 1983-84 academic year, which was his first at Yale University.

Trump then turned his ire towards second accuser Deborah Ramirez, who told the New Yorker that Kavanaugh thrust his penis into her face without her consent at a house party during their Yale University days.

Trump says Ramirez says it might not have been Kavanaugh and there were gaps in her memory. And she was totally inebriated and all messed up, and she doesn't know.

Kavanaugh is set to testify Thursday at a public hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has responded to allegations of sexual misconduct with a rather unusual defense.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, a potentially key Republican vote, said GOP senators need to come into the hearing with open minds.

U.S. and Iranian leaders set for showdown at United Nations
Rouhani earlier said that as a precondition for any dialogue, Trump would need to fix the damage done by exiting the nuclear deal. Some Iranian insiders have said any talks between Rouhani and Trump would effectively kill the existing deal.

She said Trump's remarks were "disgusting, it's disgraceful and by the way, women are paying attention". He also said he did not remember being at a party with her. If she lied to the New Yorker to smear a political enemy in the biggest possible spotlight, swearing on a Bible to tell the truth wouldn't scare her away from maintaining the lie.

As for delaying the vote even longer, Limbaugh suggested that will only make him the target of more unsubstantiated allegations, with porn star Stormy Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti waiting in the wings to drop some new claim.

Schumer says "he should apologize to her immediately". He has denied sexually assaulting anyone.

Schumer added, "Leader McConnell should rethink what he said in the heat of the moment and apologize to Dr. Ford".

The Supreme Court begins its annual term next Monday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m.

Schumer says that if McConnell truly believed the allegations were a partisan attack, he would join Democrats in calling for a background investigation. "I don't think because you happen to be a male you're disqualified from listening to the evidence and making a decision based upon the evidence", said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
