President Donald Trump declared states of emergency for North and SC, facilitating federal help, and canceled campaign events Thursday and Friday, citing the storm.

The National Hurricane Center predicts Florence will reach the East Coast as early as Wednesday night, and its winds are nearing 140 miles per hour.
