A Limited Edition 2TB PS4 Pro Is Being Released To Celebrate 500 Million PlayStations Sold

Since its inception, Sony has sold a cumulative 500 million PlayStation consoles worldwide, and to commemorate the event, the company is launching a new special edition console for gamers. On the front of the console you'll find a commemorative copper plate with the limited edition serial number etched into it. The 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 will be $64.99 USD/$74.99 CAD/€64, while the Gold Wireless Headset will be $99.99 USD/$119.99 CAD/€89. The PS4 Pro itself packs a 2TB hard drive. The asking price for this sexy beast is $499.99.

The PlayStation brand has been around for nearly 24 years at this point, and in that time, Sony has sold a lot of consoles - more than 500 million, in fact.

The defensive midfield roles will be spliced up between new boy Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner and Jordan Henderson, with Adam Lallana's return from injury offering additional options.

Sony is also prepping a dark blue translucent DualShock 4 controller for $64.99 United States dollars and $74.99 CAD, and a similarly styled Gold Wireless Headset for $99.99 USD and $119.99 CAD. The console will be on sale from August 24 and will cost $500. Congrats to Sony for that.

I'm not sure I'd run out and pick this up.

The limited edition PS4 Pro looks absolutely gorgeous from the inside out, with the translucency giving it a unique look. Still, this is a great looking system that would look good in just about anywhere. As far as I can tell the consoles only have one flaw, but it's a doozy: Sony's only making 50,000 of them.

The house of PlayStation just released a press kit with a metric ton of images that will let you do just that, from every possible angle your mind can think of.
