Conor Mcgregor Enters a Guilty Plea

Conor McGregor appears in court in Kings County Criminal Court in Brooklyn, New York charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief for his actions at the UFC 223 media day in April.

"I just want to say thank you to the DA and the judge for allowing me to move forward".

Speaking outside the court, McGregor thanked family and friends for their support throughout the case. Robbie Fox yelled, an Irish flag draped around his neck.

McGregor was arrested a few hours later and freed on US$50,000 bail.

Thankfully for McGregor, who is the biggest draw in MMA, his plea deal did not include a probation term.

"He will have to do 5 days of community service, pay restitution for the damage to the bus, and enter anger management evaluation".

He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, a violation which will not result in a criminal record. The UFC stripped him of its 155-pound championship belt in April because he had not fought in 17 months.

Two fighters were injured by flying glass during the attack and were forced to pull out of a UFC event the following weekend.

The court heard that Mr McGregor has already paid restitution.

Judge Raymond Rodriguez ruled that he cannot come into contact with UFC fighters Raymond Borg and Michael Chiesa as well as Jason Leadbetter until July 25, 2020.

In 2017, Mcgregor went to fight in a highly anticipated boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. but ended up losing via 10th-round TKO. Several fighters missed out on the event because of the incident: Michael Chiesa sustained several cuts.

He is expected to return to UFC against current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

White said McGregor justified the confrontation in a text exchange just before he turned himself in to police.

McGregor's next fight could pit him against either lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, Canadian great Georges St. Pierre or Californian Nate Diaz, who remains the only man to have beaten McGregor in the octagon.
