A woman was arrested after a video was shared online showing two children getting out of pet kennels Saturday (June 09) evening, Memphis Police said.

Disturbing cell phone video led to the arrest of Leimome Cheeks, who now faces two counts of child endangerment.

The bystander, who asked to remain anonymous, sent the video to Memphis Police.

The viral video shows a woman standing by the trunk of a Ford Explorer and holding the door of a dog kennel open as a young child clambers out feet-first.

"Leimome Cheeks was interviewed and admitted to riding from Whitehaven to Collierville with the children in the kennel", a police affidavit says.

According to the Daily Mail, the children-aged seven and eight-were told by Cheeks that there wasn't enough room in the back seat of the SUV for them to sit safely.

Cheeks appeared in court Monday morning.

"I'm just so sad for the babies".

Children's Services and Memphis Police are investigating.
