Porsche Taycan is the name for the production Mission E

Today, Porsche revealed that name is Taycan, pronounced "tie-con".

"We are going to take the next big step next year", when Taycan deliveries will begin, Blume said at the Porsche museum near the company's headquarters in Stuttgart, where the brand celebrated the 70th anniversary of its first-ever sports vehicle, the 356 model. The name "Taycan", Porsche says, translates to "lively young horse".

Porsche debuted the Mission E concept more than two years ago, but when the electric sports vehicle goes into production, it will feature a different name. The Porsche is expected to have a similar price to the Model S too, somewhere north of $80,000. Some of the spotted cars have been wearing exhaust exit surrounds that were fake and fitted to hide the car's identity.

Ever since unveiling the concept, Porsche has been saying that the production version, which is expected to launch in 2019, will remain fairly similar. Set to be priced somewhere in the $85,000 range, the Porsche Taycan will boast a 0-62 miles per hour time below 3.5 seconds and will have a top speed in excess of 155 miles per hour.

Users also have the option to build their own quick actions, such as adding a watermark to a photo , and add it to Finder . To be clear: Apple's not announcing native run compatibility for iOS apps on MacBooks, or even any kind of emulator.

Porsche has said battery-only vehicles could account for a quarter of its sales by 2025.

Though Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine already took a crack at it, and a small cadre of the automotive press got to drive a prototype a few miles at low speed to tease the powertrain, the Mission E electric sport sedan continues to move at a tantalizingly slow pace toward reality. Of the additional three billion Euros, some 500 million Euros will be used for the development of Taycan variants and derivatives, around one billion Euros for electrification and hybridization of the existing product range, several hundred million for the expansion of production sites, and around 700 million Euros for new technologies, charging infrastructure, and smart mobility. And with good reason, the Mission E's specs are truly remarkable and may ultimately sway some prospective Model S buyers to side with Porsche instead.
