Guatemala volcano: Authorities worry victims will never be recovered after eruption
More than 3,000 residents have been evacuated from the area and people have been advised to wear face masks. The spike in activity there started more than a month ago, but the volcano hasn't caused any deaths.

No deaths have been confirmed to date, but 31 percent of the people infected had to be hospitalized. People between the ages of 23 and 87 across the state were reported ill. The agency did not specify a specific kind of melon, but said the outbreak is linked to melons bought already cut and packaged -alone or in fruit salad. The elderly, infants, and those with weak immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.

This investigation is expanding rapidly. The CDC is not recommending people avoid whole melons. The CDC has indicated there have been more hospitalizations with this outbreak than what is typically seen.
