Olympique Lyon have indicated that they would let their play-maker Nabil Fekir join this year's UEFA Champions League runners-up, Liverpool, if the right fee is paid.

Fekir will be given permission to leave France's World Cup training base and could undergo his medical on Merseyside on Friday.

It had been reported that the Frenchman would complete his move to Anfield before the tournament kicks off in Russian Federation, but Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas today (Thursday) said that it was far from a done deal.

Should Fekir arrive, it will mark Liverpool's second signing of the season following Brazilian defensive midfielder Fabinho who moved from Monaco for £43.7 million a week ago. "The deal will certainly not be closed during the World Cup and I don't think there will be any change before the World Cup".

With Liverpool and Lyon now having reached an agreement, an announcement could be made as soon as this weekend. Fekir is set to play for France on Saturday evening against the U.S., a game that will take place in Lyon's Stade des Lumieres.

The France worldwide will become Liverpool's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Fabinho from Monaco.
