Roseanne Barr tweeted this evening that she "begged" Disney-ABC Television Group President Ben Sherwood to let her apologize, "not to cancel the show", and "4 help in making things right". Barr created a firestorm this week when she posted a tweet likening former Obama White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape.
"Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me", Barr wrote early Wednesday.
And while Barr has lashed out at some of her fellow co-stars who have spoken out about her tweets, she expressed sorrow that Roseanne's cancelation meant Goodman and co-star Laurie Metcalf were out of work.
"I'm sorry for my tweet", she wrote in what tweet that was later deleted. "She is a fucking asshole, but so am I. No one ever stood up to her like I did".
