"There are hard moments when you can wonder whether you are the right person still". For me and for everybody, I think the moment to change has arrived. Less than a week ago, Zidane was at the helm of affairs at the Real Madrid Club, he also helped them lift the coveted Champions League crown by defeating Liverpool 3-1 in the finals.

"The team needs to continue winning and needs a change", said the outgoing manager. If I don't think that we can keep winning then it's time.

After all, Zidane's last action as a professional footballer was ramming the butt of his head into the chest of Marco Materazzi during the France vs. Italy final in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The Madrid chief was expecting Zidane to speak to him about signings, but Zidane surprised the president by saying "I will not continue”".

"Madrid has given everything to me and I will be close to this club for the rest of my life". It made a big impact on me when I heard the decision.

DONE DEAL? Man Utd meet buyout clause for Porto defender Diogo Dalot
Dalot can also play in midfield and at left-back, the position he has operated in primarily for Sérgio Conceição's side. Porto accept that they have to sell, with the release clause having been met and Dalot's contract expiring next year.

As to his future plans, Zidane said he was not looking to rush back into management.

His unparalleled success in the Champions League has been unable to shield him from criticism, and there has always been speculation that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been lined up to replace him. "Having done well in the last three years, it is the right decision", he said.

Zidane mentioned the struggles the team faced this season, including in the Spanish league and the Copa del Rey. The Frenchman has been in charge for less than three years and has won three Uefa Champions Leagues, the most recent of which was secured on Saturday in Kiev.

"It is the moment to make a change, also for the players".

"I want to thank Zizou for his dedication to the job, his passion and his affection". There were some tough moments, some good moments and we finished with a spectacular moment'.

Unseen for weeks, Melania Trump tweets she's 'feeling great'
Yet 16 days later, the most anyone has heard from Trump has come via Twitter , with just one addressing her medical procedure. Or so she claims to the media, who apparently, according to her, have been "working overtime speculating where I am".

Zidane said his best moment with Madrid was when he was signed to play for the club in 2001.

"But there is one thing.", Lacombe told AFP.

Zidane has achieved unrivaled success in his first-ever major coaching role and could safely be called the greatest "rookie" manager. The former star player arrived surrounded by doubts because of his lack of coaching experience but quickly surpassed expectations.

Speculation quickly turned to who will succeed him at the Santiago Bernabeu, with World Cup-winning Germany coach Low among those touted as potential replacements.
