First lady Melania Trump on Monday unveiled her new platform of initiatives to help kids, saying her "Be Best" campaign will focus on addressing the well-being of children, social media use and opioid abuse.
The first lady said early on that she would focus on child well-being.
"It remains our generation's moral imperative to take responsibility and help our children manage the many issues they are facing today, including encouraging positive social, emotional, and physical habits", said Mrs. Trump.
The poll, which was conducted for CNN by research company SSRS, reported 57 percent of respondents had a favorable opinion of the first lady, up from 47 percent in January and her highest level ever reported by CNN and SSRS.
Most modern wives of presidents have opted to choose one standout point of interest and use their elevated status to promote or encourage it. Trump said the "Be Best" campaign will help to support families and children affected by the opioid epidemic, reduce the stigma of drug addiction across the country and bring awareness to programs and places now serving the issue like Lily's Place and the Cincinnati Children's hospital.Читайте также: A Couple of Texts Can Crash the WhatsApp & Android Device
Former first lady Michelle Obama was a corporate attorney, a public service advocate and a senator's spouse before Barack Obama was elected president. Though she has been somewhat reclusive during her time at the White House, the First Lady has visited hospitals across the globe and visited with families impacted by the opioid epidemic. "And i believe together we can make a real difference".
"Thank you in advance for sharing your stories and your thoughts about your struggles and triumphs". "I feel strongly that as adults, we can and should "be best" at educating our children about the importance of a healthy and balanced life".
"I am well aware that people are skeptical of me discussing this topic", said Trump.
"As we all know, social media can both positively and negatively affect our children".
"But it will not stop me for doing what I know is right", she reportedly added.
During that meeting, the first lady appeared to indirectly address the elephant in the room: her husband's frequent use of name-calling in his tweets.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
