Markelle Fultz is not 'dead and buried' for NBA playoffs, Sixers' coach Brett Brown insists

Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers: In Jaylen Brown's absence, Celtics continue to step up

The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 108-103 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

"I'm going to have bad games; it happens", Simmons said, per ESPN's Ian Begley. Wasn't just out there, flowing, playing the way that I play, which is free.

"I wanted to play last game too", Brown admitted. I will encourage him like I always do but there is nothing that I need to say, he brings it night in and night out. "We threw different matchups at him, and we really dictated what he wanted to do".

Boston's medical staff was initially on the fence about whether or not to let Brown play, but the second-year wing convinced them that he was feeling good enough to go.

"I think it was mainly what I did to myself. Physically, the Heat were on another level".

Simmons was fantastic in the Sixers' first-round series against Miami.

"They won two games at home and we have to reciprocate", Sixers coach Brett Brown said. I am going to play within my game. "Obviously, it's not the ideal timing. But we're headed home now".

Boston used the stagnant Philly attack to dominate, and the momentum was clearly in favor of the Celtics toward the end of the game.

The Sixers appeared to regain control halfway through the fourth with a five-point lead before Rozier scored eight and dished a big assist on a Jayson Tatum jam in a telling 16-4 blitz down the stretch to take back the lead, 104-97, with a less than two minutes left.

Boston is hardly incapable with Rozier in Irving's role, and that showed Monday when he shot 11-for-18 for 29 points, dished six assists and was a plus-17. A string of threes from Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown helped cut the Sixers lead down to five by halftime as part of a 25-8 run as the Sixers clung to a 56-51 lead heading into the half.

He could have left McConnell in and kept his star rookie on the bench. The 76ers are putting up no such resistance to the Celtics, and their top players are blowing away expectations, and changing the way this Celtics team should be evaluated. The Sixers moved the ball, getting double-digit performances in the first two quarters from three starters. I have to go back and watch the tape.

"He's had a helluva year, I think he's the Rookie of the Year". And every game I play, I feel that I have an advantage.

The underdog's victory was keyed by a 22-point comeback in the second quarter and made possible by a 1-point effort from Philadelphia's Ben Simmons.

Considering the Celtics swapped picks with the Sixers at No. 3, with Philly going for MarkelleFultz and the Celtics for Tatum, it's a draft night deal that may rankle Philly fans for quite some time.

"We're learning, we're a young team". There were no celebrations or fanfare in the locker room, likening the atmosphere to a regular season game. It is just basketball.I think the way Boston is guarding us in general is something that I respect. That being said, if the 76ers do not find a way to contain and disrupt these players, while also thinking about accounting for Brown if he comes back at 100 percent, they will not get back into this series.
