David Fizdale reportedly agreed to a contract as the Knicks head coach Thursday, and his relationship with James makes the Knicks believe they might become contenders for his services if he opts out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Get the app and get the game.

As well as NY, he interviewed with the Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns in recent weeks.
He will have a tall order - bringing the Knicks back to respectability.

Before being hired by Memphis, Fizdale was a longtime National Basketball Association assistant with the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat. With a lottery pick this year and if Porzingis miss next season, all indications would point towards the Knicks to return to the lottery next year. The two wanted to change the culture in NY, and the first step to doing that was finding a new head coach.
But Fizdale is well-respected and liked by players around the league. But I say that objectively. Many a coach has seen his career nosedive at Madison Square Garden.
