Curry has missed 15 games.

The good news appears to be that the Warriors training staff has handled his injury extremely cautiously, so there isn't too much of a concern regarding him returning prematurely.

"When you've been out five weeks and you want to play in the playoffs, I don't think one scrimmage is enough".

Despite his absence, the Warriors rolled through their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs in five games and proved that they might not need him to come out victorious against the Pelicans in this round.

"We hang our hats on defence, " Rajon Rondo said.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry knows as well as anyone that it's almost impossible to beat the Warriors at their own scoring game.

Given how easily the Warriors won that game without Curry, did they consider postponing his return until Game 3 or later, and giving him extra time to rest and strengthen his knee?

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters at Monday's practice that Curry is probable for Game 2.

It will be interesting to see how Curry fares in his first game back in over a month. How Curry performs when this happens will give us a good idea of where he is at in his recovery, as a fully healthy Curry should have no problem dealing with them. The back of my mind I know I'm still durable, I'm still a player that's expected to be out there every single night helping my team win.

The Warriors dominated in game 1 without Curry, so with a healthy Curry back in the lineup, it's hard to envision a scenario where the Warriors don't win this series.

Guard Jrue Holiday was coming off a fantastic first-round showing, averaging 27.8 points, 6.5 assists and four rebounds in the sweep of the Trail Blazers.

"The only factor in terms of allowing him to play is his health".

Yes, Curry is important and the Pelicans are a threat, but having the two-time MVP healthy for a potential Western Conference Finals series with the No. 1 seed Rockets is far more important.

Durant's expectations should come as no surprise.

The big question now is what role Curry will have upon his return. "The other guys stayed home and took the day off". The Pelicans only scored 7 points in the seven possessions listed with Thompson or Young as the primary Davis defender, a tradeoff the Warriors will take in that alignment.
