WWII bomb to force evacuation around Berlin's main station

In September 2017, tens of thousands of people temporarily abandoned their homes in Frankfurt as technicians worked for hours to defuse a 4,000-pound, World War II-era bomb.

Bomb disposal experts defused a World War Two bomb in Berlin on Friday after evacuating an area in the heart of the city, including Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Train Station).

Police have evacuated buildings that are in an 800-meter (half-mile) radius of the site as a precaution with officers knocking on doors to ensure nobody is remaining inside.
