A Florida jury on Friday found Noor Salman, the wife of the Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen, not guilty of helping her husband plan the 2016 mass shooting iat Pulse Nightclub that killed 49 people.
She is the widow of Omar Mateen, who killed 49 people when he opened fire at the gay club.
During the trial, prosecutors said Mateen, who was born in NY to Afghan immigrants, meant to attack Disney World's shopping and entertainment complex by hiding a gun in a stroller but became spooked by police and instead chose the gay club as his target.
Eventually, however, the court agreed the protection anyhow, acquitting Noor Salman of both costs: aiding and abetting the arrangement of product assistance to an worldwide terrorism company- in this instance, the Islamic State, to which Omar Mateen vowed his obligation throughout the strike- and also blockage of justice.
"I am disappointed in the outcome of the trail and know the victims and/or their families are more disappointed", Demings said.
Over the course of the trial, jurors saw graphic footage from inside Pulse, watching as Mateen sprayed bullets into a crowd of patrons, then stalked the nightclub, shooting the wounded as they lay on the dance floor.

"The bottom line is that, based on the letter of the law, and the detailed instructions provided by the court, we were presented with no option but to return a verdict of not guilty", the statement read.
Salman's attorneys argued she was not an accomplice in the case, but a victim.
Salman was married to Omar Mateen when he attacked the gay nightclub. They say it was coerced and she signed it because she was exhausted and feared losing her young son. They said there will be rejoicing for Salman's being found not guilty, but also sorrow because she has been in prison for a long time. "Noor Salman is a mother, not a monster", defense attorney Linda Moreno told jurors.
The defense maintained that Salman was coerced into making statements during a 16-hour interrogation, which was not recorded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Salman did not testify in her defense.
Leal says she remembers her son as a happy, always on the go, loving person. "It is only logical the world would look next to Noor Salman".

Salman's uncle Al boasted that "it's Good Friday for everybody. The importance to this case is that if he didn't know, she couldn't know".
The revelation threatened to upend the case against Salman, but the judge denied the motion, saying it was not relevant.
Beyond Salman's confession, the prosecution's case was relatively thin, resting on circumstantial evidence that Mateen and Salman were anticipating a major, potentially fatal event in the 11 days leading up to the shooting: During that period, the couple racked up purchases and cash withdrawals that added up to more than Mateen's annual salary as a security guard, while also adding Salman as a death beneficiary to Mateen's bank account.
Sweeney said Mateen's initial plan was to attack Disney Springs, a commercial district adjacent to Disney World.
