'Black Panther' Tops $1.2B WW & Pushes Disney Past $1B At International Box Office

Marvel continues to dominate social media as Black Panther has been crowned the most tweeted about movie ever, with more than 35 million tweets.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has pulled in $624 million on the North American box office, roaring past 2012's The Avengers, which made $623.4 million.

But the movie is still far from beating the box office collection of movies like Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation ($135 million), The Jungle Book ($150 million) and Captain America: Civil War ($180.7 million). Especially since Black Panther is only in its sixth week of release and its box office bounty is sure to grow.

While "Black Panther" may have set a record for North America, it's still behind "The Avengers", "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Iron Man 3" internationally.
