Turkey forward Cenk Tosun struck twice after the break as Everton beat 10-man Stoke City 2-1 in the snowy Midlands to end a miserable run of away form in the Premier League on Saturday (March 17).

Tosun netted both goals amid a chaotic 15-minute period in the second half that was split by what seemed to be a vital Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting equaliser.

"I thought Ramadan did well on Monday, and he is ready to play", he added.

Mathieu was entering the third season of a five-year $62.5m contract. Mathieu wound up making a little less than $22 million of that. The tough part is when someone asks you to take a pay cut.

"I think it is a hard thing for that to happen unless you are Lionel Messi or that type of player".

The first big chance of the game arrived for Everton as Tom Davies lost Charlie Adam from a set piece but headed Wayne Rooney's cross way over. Things really swinged in the Toffees' favour half an hour into the game, however, as Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam was sent off for a reckless tackle on Rooney.

Tosun's two goals ended Everton's troubles on the road and sentenced Stoke to a defeat which leaves them feeling the icy chill of the relegation trapdoor.

Tosun looked to be in an offside position as he initially attempted to head home Yannick Bolasie's cross in the 69th minute, before burying the loose ball amid a subsequent goalmouth scramble.

Stoke City can not let Monday's 2-0 Premier League defeat by runaway leaders Manchester City define their season and must seek a response when they play Everton this weekend, manager Paul Lambert has said.

Tosun now has four goals in three games and, on this evidence, could succeed in the Premier League. "Staying in the Premier League is only going to help that".
