Karnataka Congress MLA NA Haris' son Mohammed Haris Nalapad surrendered at the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bengaluru on Monday, almost two days after an FIR was filed against him and ten others for allegedly assaulting a man in UB City.
The BJP leaders condemned the attack and accused the Congress of trying to protect Mohammed Haris.
Congress was red-faced after its MLA N A Haris' son Mohammed Nalapad Haris and his friends had allegedly beaten up Vidwat on February 17 for extending his plaster-cast leg near to the accused in the pub-cum-restaurant. The victim, Vidvat, is now recovering at Mallya Hospital in the city. They also demanded that he should be charged with attempt to murder.
Based on Praveen's complaint, Cubbon Park police registered a case against Nalapad and 10 others under sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 147 (rioting) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Nalapad had earlier today surrendered before the police. They then followed Vidwath into Mallya Hospital's emergency ward to rough him up and his elder brother Satwik L, threatening them against filing a police complaint. He said a Bharatiya Janata Party MP's son was also seen in the footage but was not named an accused. Whoever does wrong is wrong, be it the son of an MLA or anyone else. "His phone is switched off. Let the law take its own course", the MLA said.
He had surrendered before the police yesterday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah tweeted that offenders should be punished to the "full extent of law". Now his father, NA Haris has come out in defence of his son and has said that leniency should be shown to his son on grounds of his immaturity.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
