The cat, called Tardar Sauce, shot to internet fame in 2012 when an image of its now iconic scowl heavy face, actually caused by an underbite and feline dwarfism, was posted online and spawned countless memes. A dispute later began after the company sued the owners of the coffee company for using her image in other products that were not part of the $150,000 deal.
On Monday, Grumpy Cat and her owner Tabatha Bundesen were awarded $710,001 in court.

Grenade then counter-sued arguing that Grumpy Cat Limited didn't fulfil its side of the deal by promoting Grenade on social media. The cat did appear in a Christmas movie in 2014. The coffee company countersued, saying that the cat's company had not done all that had been agreed to. The company was also told the cat would be starring in a movie alongside Will Ferrell and Jack Black, but no such project exists.
