Mike Locksley to be Alabama's next offensive coordinator

It appears Nick Saban has found his replacement for former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

Locksley has spent the past two seasons on Alabama's staff and served as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2017. Locksley had an ill-fated run as New Mexico's (2009-11) head coach. With that said, Saban has endured a revolving door of offensive coordinators and another opening emerged when Brian Daboll fled to the Buffalo Bills. To that end, Locksley actually had at least one additional offer, as Chris Low of ESPN reports that he had the opportunity to land in Tallahassee on Willie Taggart's staff.

WEF 2018 will also see the largest ever proportion of women leaders including all co-chairs being women this time. The CEOs of Airbus, Hitachi, BAE Systems and IBM are among the ones who have already confirmed their attendance.

Locksley has spent the past two seasons with the Crimson Tide, including one year as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Locksley wasn't the only coaching change this week.

The duo suffered severe burns and multiple fractures after jumping off the second floor to escape the flames and smoke. Ten women and seven men were killed, another fire official said, noting that a man and woman have been injured.

Locksley is expected to work with the Crimson Tide's quarterbacks as well.

Locksley's challenge will be sorting out Alabama's QB battle between Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa, and maximizing the offense that was dependent on young players while defeating Georgia in the national championship game. He arrived as an offensive analyst after a stint as Maryland's interim head coach.
