Almost 4 in 10 US voters gave President Donald Trump a failing grade for his first year in office, with "disaster" and "chaotic" the words most used to describe his first 12 months in the White House.

"It's been a very tough Freshman year for President Donald Trump, by any measure", Malloy said.

According to a Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday, 66 percent of voters said they believed the economy is "excellent" or "good"-a record high for the poll since it started asking the question in 2001".

President Donald Trump on Thursday touted the results of a Quinnipiac University poll released a day earlier, which show that 66% of voters think the USA economy is "excellent" or "good".

The divide was starkest along racial lines: Just 37 percent of white respondents said Congress should begin impeachment proceedings, while 65 percent of African-Americans said they should.

Voters said by a margin of 69-28 percent that Trump is not level-headed and 57 percent of voters said he is not fit to serve as president.
