Samsung's incredible solution is to combine microLEDs (or mLEDs) and modular screen units which are more than ready for 8K and allowing consumers to buy as many modular units as its wall - and credit card - can manage.
The modular, self-emitting display is created to offer consumers what Samsung calls is an outstanding viewing experience, while acting as a centralised connected smart hub to enhance everyday life.
This year's First Look, attended by more than 300 global media and influencers, included remarks from Jonghee Han, Samsung's President of Visual Display, and Dave Das, Senior Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics America.
"It's groundbreaking", said Andrew Sivori, vice president of TV marketing at Samsung Electronics America, "There hasn't really been, for all intents and purposes, a new TV technology in nearly 10 years".

In addition to the unique "modular" television that arrives in "tiles", Samsung will also deliver 8K television screens - twice as sharp as today's top-model TVs - that will upgrade existing TV shows and movies to better resolution using artificial intelligence. The result, as well as size flexibility, is "brighter white hues, darker black shades and the truest natural colours", claims Samsung. "We're excited about this next step along our roadmap to the future of screen technology, and the remarkable viewing experience it offers to consumers".
When there's a 146-inch MicroLED elephant in the room, it can be hard to see anything else, but it would be a mistake to overlook Samsung's 85-inch 8K Q9S QLED TV. MicroLEDs are a lot smaller than regular LEDs, and they serve as their own source of light.
What that means for the average human being is that the TV doesn't need a backlight. "Also, the MicroLED screen excels in durability and effectiveness, including luminous efficiency, the light source lifetime and power consumption, setting the standard for future screen technology", Samsung explains on its website.
Thanks to its module-based, bezel-less design, "The Wall" allows consumers to customize their television to the size and shape of their choice.
SpaceX to launch Zuma spacecraft, most secretive mission to date
After a almost two-month delay, the rocket is set to blast off sometime during a two-hour launch window, which opens at 8 p.m. Aerospace and defense company Northrop Grumman was responsible for securing SpaceX's launch services for the Zuma mission.
The AI technology is created to upscale standard definition content to 8K and uses a proprietary algorithm to adjust screen resolution based on the picture quality characteristics of each scene.
There is a great TV war brewing, and features like display size and resolution are the new ammos. "Or, if viewing a concert, the low-frequency sounds of the music might be highlighted to deliver a richer sound", the company said.
Amongst the slew of giant screens, all Ultra-HD and usually HDR or Dolby Vision-equipped, few expected South Korean electronics giant Samsung to do much at CES 2018 that was truly spectacular. That's just the beginning of what we can expect from Samsung smart TVs in 2018. It offers a simpler way to control the television and sync with other devices.
The 2018 smart TVs will also include the launch of Universal Guide - an advanced program guide that recommends TV programs and content based on a user's preferences. What it may also mean is a more affordable way of achieving that quality.
