However, France's United Nations ambassador Francois Delattre argued that the protests don't threaten global peace and security, saying: "We must be wary of any attempts to exploit this crisis for personal ends". "Another FP (foreign policy) blunder for the Trump administration", Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted.

He said Iran had already violated the 2015 deal, which imposed curbs on Iran's nuclear capability in return for easing worldwide embargoes.
