The K-pop superstar, better known to his fans as just Jonghyun, was transported to a hospital after he was found unconscious by police on Monday at his apartment in Seoul's Gangnam district. In one message, The Guardian reports Jonghyun wrote, "Please let me go. Final farewell." It was later revealed that his cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning.

Jonghyun's death is being reported as an "apparent suicide". So talented, so kind, so handsome, so wonderful, and so much more. "I'm heartbroken and devastated by the news". A third simply chimed in, "My tears won't stop".

The singer debuted with SM Entertainment's five-member group SHINee back in 2008, who later worked on solo projects.
