For these reasons, I've stated for months that I believe President Trump should be, and eventually will be, impeached.

But the process of impeaching an American president and removing him from office is complex and challenging. The vast majority of Democrats joined with Republicans in voting to table it in the GOP-led House.

A Democrat congressman has vowed to force a vote to impeach President Donald Trump on Wednesday, a move party leaders have long sought to block despite mounting frustration from a small group of liberal lawmakers.

The House vote on the articles of impeachment failed overwhelmingly, 364-58.

At least a handful of fellow Democrats may vote for Green's resolution.

Democratic Texas Rep. Al Green has submitted a resolution on the House floor calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, saying he has committed "high misdemeanors" while in office.

Watch Green introduce the resolution below. "It is not about Republicans, it is about the fate of our Republic", Green wrote to colleagues Tuesday.

The articles specifically accuse Trump of "associating the majesty and dignity of the presidency with causes rooted in white supremacy, bigotry, racism, anti-Semitism, white nationalism, or Neo-Nazism".

International Olympic Committee bans Russian Federation from Winter Olympics
The IOC also imposed lifetime Olympic ban on Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko, organizer of soccer's 2018 World Cup. Instead, Russia blames Grigory Rodchenkov, the former director of Moscow and Sochi testing laboratories, as a rogue employee.

Shortly before the vote, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said there are "legitimate questions" raised about Trump's fitness to lead the country.

Several Democratic lawmakers argued that it's premature to act before special counsel Robert Mueller's team completes its Russian Federation investigation. Republicans control the House by a comfortable margin, while even many Democrats are lukewarm or cold to the idea of impeachment. "I will tell them that tomorrow we will bring articles of impeachment to the floor of the Congress of United States of America for a vote".

Green also has cited Trump lashing out at NFL players who kneeled during the National Anthem to protest police brutality and his Muslim travel ban.

Democratic Rep. Dan Kildee of MI says Democratic lawmakers can't let themselves be drawn into a process "that's not thoughtful or complete or might not even be the conclusion we ought to draw".
