The 17-year-old, who played soccer at her Florida high school, may have been in a relationship with the assistant boys' soccer coach Rian Rodriguez.


The 17-year-old was located safe in central NY on Friday.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office confirmed a missing teenager who is believed to have ran away with a soccer coach was found safe on Friday. Her former soccer coach Rian Rodriguez, 27, is now in jail on a charge of interference with a child's custody. Her parents reported her missing on Sunday. The officer reportedly detained Rodriguez without incident.

According to Fox News, Frisina's father said that Rodriguez was a family friend and there were no indications that his daughter would leave with him. "We are so thankful to have her back".

A photo provided to ABC News by the family on Saturday showed Frisina smiling while embracing her parents. The teen's phone - which had been completely erased - was left behind, authorities said.

Local authorities, aided by agencies including the U.S. Marshal Service, began searching for the pair and the 2001 Mercury Sable in which they were believed to have been traveling. "More to follow as details come in", the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet on Friday night.

According to statement released by the Columbia County School District, they said they were working in tandem with the sheriff's office and added that the coach has been suspended due to the ongoing investigation.
