Investigators for Special Counsel Robert Mueller are questioning witnesses about an alleged September 2016 meeting between Mike Flynn, who later briefly served as President Donald Trump's national security adviser, and Rep. The NBC News report said the evidence was related to Flynn's lobbying work throughout the latter half of 2016 - while he was a top Trump campaign surrogate - for a businessman with ties to the Turkish government.

Mueller, who is leading the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 U.S. election and whether President Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow to tilt the race in his favor, has compiled enough evidence to bring charges against Flynn and his son, NBC News reported on Sunday.

"If Mueller has sufficient evidence that Flynn and his son were involved in this audacious plot to kidnap the cleric, the special counsel can use that to pressure the former Trump campaign associate to flip and tell the FBI everything he knows of relevance to the Russian Federation investigation".

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have asked at least four individuals about a meeting in mid-December at the "21" Club in New York City, where Mr. Flynn and representatives of the Turkish government discussed removing Mr. Gulen, according to people with knowledge of the FBI's inquiries.
