At least three people have been hurt in a vehicle attack near Toulouse, Occitanie, in southern France said the French police on Friday, as reported by news agency AFP.

France has experienced a rash of vehicular terror attacks inspired by the Islamic State group, but there has been no immediate confirmation of the driver's identity or motive.

Toulouse Prosecutor Pierre-Yves Couilleau said Friday evening that two students remained hospitalized and one had left the hospital. La Dépêche du Midi newspaper quoted him as telling police he had heard voices telling him to harm someone.

The person was not on a security watch list and had minor offenses, mostly drug-related, police said. One woman, 23, was in serious condition.
