Giants reinstate CB Janoris Jenkins after indefinite suspension

The New York Giants announced on Tuesday that cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been reinstated after being hit with an indefinite suspension a week ago for a violation of team rules.

Jenkins, who joined fellow cornerback Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie in serving essentially one-week suspensions this season, was punished after he did not return from the team's bye week on time.

Bucs' QB Winston Out At Least 2 Weeks With Shoulder Injury
Koetter made the announcement after doctors examined the results of an MRI on Winston's right shoulder. He's thrown 10 touchdowns but six interceptions, totaling 1,920 yards through the season's first half.

Initially, head coach Ben McAdoo said the absence had been excused, but later acknowledged he lied to the media as he worked to gain more facts. Still, he's struggled since losing wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall to season-ending injuries and could be on the verge of being benched after the team's 51-17 home loss Sunday to the Rams.

The Giants (1-7) are scheduled to visit the winless 49ers (0-8) at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday.
