Last week Nintendo distributed an update for its Switch console that brings the firmware up to v. 4.0, and while the notes accompanying the update made no mention of it, it appears the console can now support GameCube controllers.
Sudden GameCube controller compatibility has particularly piqued the interest of the Super Smash Bros. community, who are taking it as another potential sign that a remastered Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is coming to the Switch. That can be plugged into the Switch dock, the controllers can be paired through the settings menu by pressing the L and R buttons.
Dont'a Hightower Out for Year with Torn Pectoral
Hightower was injured Sunday night while making a tackle in the third quarter of the Patriots' 23-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons . To do so, they'll have to beat the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday in Gillette Stadium in the last game before their bye week.
Being an old device, the GameCube controller doesn't have a Z button on the left-hand side which make it hard to use it some games. Well, there's always the "oops" possibility.
However, it's hard to imagine that such an oddly specific error would occur.

However, the games Nintendo has discounted for the Switch are still good titles, and if you're investing in a digital library and want to save some pennies they're worth looking at. Nintendo has launched its Halloween eShop sale in Europe, bringing discounts to games across its DS, Wii U, and even Switch consoles. Some, for instance, are speculating that this might mean the impending release of a new Smash Bros. game.
Support for Marijuana Legalization Hits All-Time High
This is the highest level of public support Gallup has found for the proposal in almost a half-century of measurement. By 2001, however, about a third of Americans favored legalizing marijuana, and support has steadily increased since.
For the time being, it's just nice to know that Nintendo's strangest controller is going to survive yet another generation of gaming.
