Former US congressman Anthony Weiner jailed for 21 months

Anthony Weiner's Set To Be Sentenced – Here's Everything You Need To Know About His Sexting Trial

Anthony Weiner sentenced to 21 months in prison

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner was sentenced Monday to 21 months in federal prison for sexting with a minor.

By the end of February, Weiner - who by this time knew the girl was only 15 - was video-chatting with her via Skype and using "graphics and obscene language" to ask her to "display her naked body and touch herself", the feds said. He pleaded guilty in May to transferring obscene messages to a minor, and agreed he would not appeal any sentence of 27 months or less.

He must also enrol in a sex offender treatment programme. "Today, Anthony Weiner received a just sentence that was appropriate for his crime".

Suspect Killed, Officer Shot In New Castle
A La Verne police officer was injured and a suspect was shot and wounded during an altercation early Saturday, authorities said. An officer ordered the man to drop the item but the man refused and continued to move toward the officers, Moore said.

In their sentencing memorandum prosecutors are seeking 21-27 months imprisonment for Weiner, the former U.S. congressman and estranged husband of Hillary Clinton's former adviser Huma Abedin. The story says he was sexting with a 15-year-old North Carolina girl at the time. The prosecution called probation "inadequate" and asked for two years in prison (he faced up to 10 years for his guilty plea).

Weiner will report to a federal prison that has yet to be determined by the Bureau of Prisons on November 6.

"Although the defendant's self-destructive path from United States congressman to felon is indisputably sad, his crime is serious and his demonstrated need for deterrence is real", prosecutors wrote to the judge.

General Assembly debate will begin at 6.30 pm and Union Minister Sushma Swaraj is listed 7th in the list. Indian officials remained tight-lipped on the content of Swaraj's speech.

His attorneys maintain Weiner is not a sexual predator but a sick man who has made "stunning progress" through counseling.

Judge Cote rejected Weiner's request to recommend a lower-security facility, and no specific prison has yet been assigned.

"The laws fully protect her", Cote said.

He was not given a squad number at the start of the season, was demoted to the U23s, and wasn't even given a locker at the club. I have really enjoyed the start to my Goodison career and I plan to be here for a long time.

The case also became an issue in the closing days of 2016 presidential election when then-FBI director James Comey cited emails discovered on a laptop used by Weiner to justify reopening the probe into Mrs Clinton's private computer server. He and Abedin are now going through divorce proceedings. He said he had sexted with six women over a three-year period. The Daily Mail reported last September that Weiner had spent months flirting on apps like Confide and Kik with the girl, sending her shirtless pictures and saying he'd "bust that tight pussy so hard and so often". Over the next few hours Weiner exchanged messages with her that ranged "from the mundane to the provocative".
