Hollywood Police Chief Tomas Sanchez said that the authorities were investigating the deaths and looking at every possibility, adding that nothing would be ruled out, including a criminal angle to the investigation.

While the state considers nursing homes high power priority centers it remains unclear why power remained off at the center days following the storm. But the extent of the damage has been an unanswered question for days because some places have been unreachable.

In Broward County, more than 212,000 electricity accounts were without power Thursday morning, state officials said.

"We need to make sure we're doing everything we can to keep our seniors safe during this hard time", he said.
